The Women's Giving Circle of Cumberland County celebrated its 10th anniversary February 1st at a breakfast at Highland Presbyterian Church. Kimberly Johnson, a children's author and motivational speaker, told those gathered that all children have a better chance at succeeding in life if they receive encouragement. "It's our job to fill them up with as much good stuff as we can," she said. The Giving Circle raises money to improve the lives of women and children in Cumberland Country. This year, the amount of grants it has awarded to such causes will top $500,000.
