 Mrs. Violet Grey Lovick McNeill, 92, of Fayetteville, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Indigo Hall Retirement Community in Charleston, SC. A graveside service will be held Monday, April, 15th, at 1:00 p.m. at The Old Bluff Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Godwin, NC. Violet was born on September 27, 1931, in Fayetteville, NC, to the late John and Alice Lovick and was raised in Wade, NC. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Mr. Hugh W. McNeill.

Violet is survived by a daughter, Anne McNeill Laviner of Laurinburg, NC, and her children, Ben Laviner of Burlington, NC, Sarah Laviner of Laurinburg, NC, and Maggie Laviner of High Point, NC, and a son, John Hugh and his wife, Jane Carlton McNeill of Charleston, SC, and their children, Katie McNeill Knowles, and husband, Daniel, and Rebecca Carlton McNeill of Charleston, SC. Violet is also survived by brother, Julian “Sonny” Lovick of Wade, NC, and sister, Margaret Ann Lovick Honeycutt of Godwin, NC.

Violet worked as a paralegal for Rose, Thorpe, Rand, Ray, and Clark for over 30 years. A loyal servant of God, Violet was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church of Fayetteville where she served as an Elder (Emeritus) and was a long time member of the Emma Lee Howie Sunday School class. For her years of faithful dedication to Highland Presbyterian Church, Violet was recognized with the Honorary Lifelong Membership of Women of the Church.

Above all else, Violet will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who found joy in caring for those around her. She delighted in raising her children and grandchildren and was most at peace when surrounded by those she loved. While her family will miss her deeply, her loved ones rejoice in the knowledge that Violet has returned to her heavenly home.
