
Barbara Vossler Lepper, 88, died peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, and entered into eternal life on Saturday, December 17, 2022.
Barbara was born September 20, 1934, in Greenville, SC, to the late George William Vossler, and Marian Walsh Vossler.
Barbara attended Fayetteville High School, Akron University in Ohio, and Duke University, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She served on the PTA Board at Terry Sanford High School, and the Red Cross Board of Cumberland County. Barbara was a retired Army wife, having lived in three continents. Brazil and Portugal were her two favorite assignments, where her late husband, Lew Lepper, served with the United States Embassy. She was a member of the Fayetteville Garden Club, the Ikebana Club, Fayetteville Botanical Gardens, and the Book Club of Fayetteville. She also was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church.
Barbara loved her family, her church, and so many wonderful friends. One of her favorite hobbies was putting together flower arrangements for friends, special occasions, and she always kept arrangements inside and outside of her home. She loved collecting items from the various countries in which she lived, and displaying them in her home. She enjoyed watching her children grow up, and attending their sporting events. She also liked watching sporting events on television with her family, and rooting for her beloved Duke Blue Devils.
Barbara was a beautiful lady, inside and out. She was generous and kind hearted. She was outgoing, funny, and loved getting together with friends and family. She took so much pride in her grandchildren, and loved spending quality time with them, and teaching them so many valuable life lessons.
Barbara is survived by three children, Marian Lepper Boyette (Bill), sons George Vossler Lepper, and Ted Elliot Lepper, her eldest son, Lewis Lepper who died in 1991: four grandchildren, George Lepper Jr.,Margaret Lepper Schulz (Kyle), Will Boyette, and Anna Margaret Boyette; one great-grandchild, Liam Schulz.
Barbara is survived by her sister, Noel Vossler Harris and her husband, Phil Harris; niece Barbara Harris Bond (the late Mark Bond); nephews Phillip Harris (Susie), William Harris (Gigi), and Sam Harris (Jeanine).
Visitation will be held in the First Presbyterian Church parlor from 9:45-10:45 on Thursday, December 22, 2022, followed by the funeral service in the church sanctuary at 11:00. Burial will be at Arlington Cemetery in Washington, DC at a later date.
