Good morning. Fayetteville’s first pedestrian plan came out in 2018. Now, the city is collecting community input and seeking feedback from stakeholders as part of an update to the plan.

Over the last few months, we’ve reported on the city’s efforts to improve pedestrian infrastructure — a key issue amid a string of recent deaths and accidents at particularly dangerous traffic intersections and as Fayetteville saw 80 pedestrian crashes across the city in 2023.

This Thursday, the city will hold a second public workshop to review its updated pedestrian plan. Check out the details on how to attend below.

Welcome to CityView Today. In today’s newsletter, we’ve also got a review of Cape Fear Regional Theatre’s “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” now in production through Dec. 22.

Until tomorrow!

🎄 I recently watched this TikTok of a slightly disappointing Christmas tree lighting in Lexington, North Carolina. While the video made me laugh, it also reminded me that my opportunity to see seasonally decorated houses is quickly dwindling. What are the best neighborhoods for me to check out Christmas lights in Fayetteville? Let me know.
