Donald Ray Faircloth, 82, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Born on May 19, 1943, in Sampson County, Don was the son of the late James Albra Faircloth and Nellie Catherine Sessoms Faircloth. A proud patriot, he served four years in the U.S. Army, working with the Army Security Agency in Arlington, Virginia. Following his military service, Don spent 34 dedicated years with Cavin’s Business Solutions before continuing his professional journey with Bible Alive Ministries for 16 more years.

A man of deep faith, Don loved the Lord and was an active member of his church, serving in various capacities throughout the years. He had a lifelong passion for aviation and built model airplanes, coming close to earning his pilot’s license before eye disease curtailed that dream. Don also had a fascination with trains and, later in life, developed a unique interest in day lilies, enjoying the challenge of cross-pollinating them to create new varieties.

Don was preceded in death by his sisters, Lottie Faircloth Pope and Mary Faircloth Stevens; and his brothers, Herman Richard Faircloth and James Faircloth.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 58 years, Linda Felton Faircloth; his daughters, Dora Lynn Caldwell and husband Mike, and Lora Rae Faircloth; his son, James Harold Faircloth and wife Billie; his sister, Elma Faircloth Rockwell; and his granddaughter, Calliope Jane Faircloth.

A celebration of Don’s life will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Cedar Falls Baptist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00–11:50 a.m. at the church. Burial with military honors will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park.

Arrangements are by Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, 545 Ramsey St., Fayetteville, N.C. 28301.
