Kaetha Weitzel Scalf was born May 9, 1939, in Eidengesäss, Germany, and passed peacefully in her sleep on October 6, 2023 in Gloucester, Virginia. She was predeceased in death by her husband John V. Scalf. She is survived by her son John M. Scalf (Karen Scalf) of Gloucester, Virginia along with their sons Jackson K. Scalf, Jace K. Scalf, and her son Jason Scalf (Jason Thurber) of Atlanta, Georgia, and a granddaughter Ty Logan Scalf of Fayetteville, North Carolina, along with many others who adored her including many friends and family in her hometown in Germany and many friends locally. She is also survived by Mariah Stanford who Kaetha considered a granddaughter. There will be a celebration of life on Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Adcock Funeral Home in Spring Lake, North Carolina, followed by a funeral on Monday, October 16, 2023, at Sandhills Cemetery on Fort Bragg at noon where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.
