The Cumberland County Animal Services shelter is waiving cat and dog adoption fees through Tuesday because the shelter is currently at capacity.

Cats, kittens and any dogs older than 6 months and weighing 30 pounds or more are all free to adopt.

“By participating in our adoption event, you’re showing your readiness to care for a pet,” the shelter wrote on Facebook. “We believe in responsible pet ownership, and this includes being financially prepared to cover their veterinary expenses.”

The shelter is open for adoption from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday. It is located at 4704 Corporation Drive in Fayetteville.
