Arenson Nichols Williams, affectionately known as “Nick,” began his life’s journey on November 9, 1971, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was born to the late Scharoyle Louise Johnson.

Nick spent his childhood in the Savory Heights neighborhood and Newark, New Jersey, where he built lifelong friendships and developed the easygoing spirit and infectious smile that so many came to know and love. He attended Terry Sanford High School in the Cumberland County School System before continuing his education at Penn State University, where he earned an Associate degree in Business Administration.

Never one to remain idle, Nick believed in working hard and embracing every opportunity that life had before him. Answering the call to serve, he proudly wore the uniforms of both the United States Navy and the United States Army, following in the footsteps of many members of his family. His military service reflected his unwavering sense of duty, discipline, and love for his country.

After his military career, Nick found success in the hospitality industry, where his leadership and outgoing personality made him a natural fit. He served as a Banquet Manager and held numerous positions in Food and Beverage Management for several respected hotel organizations. Whether leading a team or serving guests, he approached every task with professionalism, kindness, and a genuine desire to make people feel welcomed.

Upon successful service in the hotel industry Nick found his true calling working with Southeastern Cable as a project director. His responsibilities covered the regions of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virigina. The true joys of this adventure was the fact that he worked along sides his sons, impeding the skills necessary to succeed in the business.

While Nick enjoyed a successful career, his greatest joy came from investing in others. For the past five years, he served as the beloved head coach of the Village Christian Academy boys’ and girls’ golf teams, where he became much more than a coach. He was a mentor, encourager, role model, and friend to countless young athletes. Under his leadership, the golf program reached unprecedented success, winning every conference championship during his tenure and capturing the school’s first-ever Golf State Championship. These historic accomplishments were a testament not only to his knowledge of the game but also to his remarkable ability to inspire confidence, discipline, perseverance, and excellence in every student-athlete he coached. Nick also shared his passion for the game as the Assistant Golf Professional at Gates Four Country Club, where he was respected for his professionalism, love of golf, and dedication to helping players of all skill levels develop both their game and their character in those he coached. Reflection of Life Cont.

Outside of work and coaching, Nick embraced life with enthusiasm. He found peace on the golf course, freedom on the open road aboard his motorcycle, joy on the softball field, and inspiration in the music of artists like 2Pac and DMX. Whether spending time with family, sharing laughter with friends, or mentoring young people, Nick lived each day with authenticity, generosity, and heart.

In June 2026, Nick was diagnosed with cancer. True to his character, he faced his illness with courage, determination, and faith. Although his spirit was willing to continue the fight, God had prepared a different victory. On Saturday, August 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of family, our Heavenly Father called Nick home from his residence in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Though his earthly journey has ended, Nick’s legacy lives on in every life he touched, every player he encouraged, every lesson he taught, and every heart made better by knowing him. His memory will forever remind us that true greatness is not measured by titles or accomplishments, but by the love we give, the lives we influence, and the example we leave behind.
