
This week’s Cumberland County high school athletes of the week are:
- Thomas Horne, Terry Sanford, golf
Horne turned in an outstanding round of 5 under par 67 for the Bulldogs in the Neuse Invitational, helping lead his school to a team championship.
- Zoe Dorsey, Terry Sanford, track
Dorsey, a freshman, broke the school record for the 800 meters with a time of 2:18.75. The old record was set in 1985 by Laura Giroud. Dorsey currently holds the lowest time in the even among region runners in the 3-A classification.
