CityView is proud to announce this year’s CityView Power of Giving Community Impact Awards winners, presented by the Public Works Commission. The honorees are Ralph and Linda Huff (presented together through one nomination), Emily Ruth Perry, Antonio Jones, and Jeremy Fiebig.

These individuals embody the essence of giving and the Power of Giving Community Impact Awards; they are community members who quietly go about helping others and who give selflessly, working behind the scenes to improve the lives of those around them.

Ralph and Linda Huff, longtime Cumberland County residents, have been essential in building homes in the area, but their work in the community has extended far beyond just home construction.

Emily Ruth Perry, current director of operations at Operation Inasmuch, helps the unhoused community of Fayetteville tirelessly, starting her involvement at Operation Inashmuch during her time working at Veritas Church.

Antonio Jones has had a plentiful career in Fayetteville’s “people business,” having served on the city council, provided mentorship to the community’s youth, and much, much more.

Jeremy Fiebig, associate professor at Fayetteville State University, has helped shape the arts not only by teaching performing and fine arts but also by creating the local theatre company Sweet Tea Shakespeare.

A panel of three judges deeply connected to the Fayetteville and Cumberland County community — DeSandra Washington, vice president for academic support services and civic engagement at Fayetteville Technical Community College, Cassandra Haire, owner of the Etiquette School of the Carolinas, and Jeffery Womble, the university ombuds (representative) of Fayetteville State University — reviewed many nominations submitted by the community and voted on who would receive this honor. This award is by the community, for the community.

All five of these individuals represent the best examples of giving in the community, and join past Power of Giving Community Impact Awards winners:

The 2024 winners will be honored at an event in February 2025. Tickets will become available early next year.

In the meantime, read about each Power of Giving Community Impact Awards honoree in this month’s CityView magazine.
