The Fayetteville City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday. Here’s what’s on the agenda:

  • Public forum: Monday’s meeting includes a public comment period. Individuals interested in speaking must sign up beforehand. The public forum is limited to 30 minutes and each speaker is allocated three minutes.
  • Airport Commission appointment: The council will discuss whether to reappoint Jay Wyatt, the previous chair of the Airport Commission. Wyatt was not reappointed to the Airport Commission because of a “clerical error” that mistakenly said he was ineligible for another appointment term, agenda materials state. Judy Dawkins, who has previously served several terms on the Airport Commission was reappointed in Wyatt’s place. The council can either rescind Dawkins’ appointment and reappoint Wyatt instead, or amend the city’s ordinances for the Airport Commission to expand its membership from seven to nine people.
  • Closed session: There will also be a closed-door meeting an hour prior to the official meeting for the council to “consider the conditions of appointment of an employee and attorney-client privilege,” according to the meeting notice

The council meeting will take place at City Hall, 433 Hay St. It will also be aired on Spectrum Cable Channel 7 and live-streamed at www.faytv.net.
