A boil water advisory has been issued to some customers within the Gray’s Creek Water and Sewer District, the county said in a press release Monday.

According to the county, a sample from the Southpoint Water System, which is a part of the Gray’s Creek Water and Sewer District, tested positive for E. coli. The county said customers in the water system should boil water for one minute before use.

Customers will be notified when the water is safe to drink by the Cumberland County Public Utilities Department, which is currently flushing the Southpoint Water System. Additionally, customers should expect to receive information being provided by the county door to door today.

For additional information, the county recommends contacting the public utilities department at 910-678-7682. CityView previously wrote about recommendations for Fayetteville customers who were under a boil water advisory in September.
