Donald Ray Strickland, 71, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Donald served more than 40 years with Westarea Fire Department. He served in many roles over the years and the fire department was a big part of his life. He also enjoyed Nascar Racing and spending time with his children and grand-children. He is survived by his wife Cathy Strickland, son Donald Ray (Al) Strickland, Jr. (Russchelle), daughters Lorena (Pris) Greenhill and Tammy Wagner (Robert); his grandchildren Alyson, Emily, Alan Strickland, Katlyn Greenhill (Logan) and Nathan Wagner; brother Michael (Mike) Parker (Joanne) and sisters Mary Jo McLaurin and Betty Jean VonCannon. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation will begin at 11:00am on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Rogers & Breece Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery.
