Someone on Friday afternoon reported seeing what appeared to be unexploded ordnance near the North Commissary on Fort Liberty, the 18th Airborne Corps said on its Facebook page.
An explosive ordinance team responded and no live rounds were found, spokesperson April Olsen told CityView. She said the item was noticed around 3 p.m. and the situation was cleared by 4:30 p.m.
The incident was near Souter Place and Macomb Street, the 18th Airborne Corps said. The area was cordoned off and traffic was away.
Olsen said the Army is appreciative that people are keeping an eye out for potential dangers.
