
The Fayetteville Fury has entered the United Premier Soccer League as a Premier Division soccer team in the Mid-Atlantic Conference, according to a news release.
The Fury’s inaugural league match will be on Aug. 19, and the team’s first home game is scheduled for Sept. 9, the release said.
As a Premier Division team in the UPSL, Fayetteville Fury is set to compete at the highest level of pro-development soccer, the release said. With close to 400 clubs, UPSL is the largest and most competitive league of its kind in the country, the release said.
UPSL’s affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation and U.S. Adult Soccer Association grants Fayetteville Fury and its fellow UPSL teams eligibility to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds, the release said.
