United States Supreme Court Associate Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson has sold out her upcoming appearance at Fayetteville State University.

The free but ticketed event is set for Sept. 4 in the 1,132-seat Seabrook Auditorium. It sold out on Monday, the day Jackson’s visit was announced by Fayetteville Area Habitat for Humanity, Habitat spokesperson Ashley R. Thompson said on Tuesday.

Jackson is to have a one-on-one conversation on stage with Brandon Price, CEO of Fayetteville Area Habitat for Humanity, a news release from Habitat says. They will talk about Jackson’s memoir, Lovely One, which was published last year, the release says.

The announcement describes Jackon’s book as “an unflinching account of her life and world, tracing her family’s ascent from segregation to her confirmation on America’s highest court as the first female Black justice within the span of one generation.”

Jackson was appointed to the Supreme Court in 2022, when she was nominated by then-President Joe Biden.
