Gregory Lee Newell passed away on April 3, 2026.

Gregory was preceded in death by his mother, Kimberly Cher Gilmore; his grandparents, Clarence & Victoria Dunn; and his great grandfather, Bill Gilmore.

Gregory Lee Newell is survived by his wife, Lindsee Newell; his three sons, Allen Newell, Logan Newell, & Mason Newell, of Fayetteville, NC; his father & stepmother, James E. Newell Jr & Tonya K. Newell; his siblings, Mikayla Comer, Aaron Patterson & his wife and son, Christina & Oliver Patterson, Kaitlyn Newell, & Emmalin Newell; his grandparents, Danny & Patsy Kivett; his father-in-law, Thomas Johnson; his mother-in-law, Shelly Poplin; his brother-in-law, Thomas Johnson III; his sister-in-law, Lauren Johnson; along with a niece & nephew due in July 2026.

Gregory was the kind of man who never met a stranger, only friends he hadn’t made yet. With a heart that gave freely, he would do anything for anyone, aways showing up with kindness, generosity, and a willingness to help. He had a natural gift for music, able to sing and play multiple instruments by ear, filling every room with warmth, laughter, and life.

Gregory had a deep love for the beach, where some of his happiest moments were spent with his family. His sense of humor and easygoing spirit made others feel at home, and he lived by the simple truth he often shared: “Don’t stress over the things you can’t control.”

Above all, Gregory cherished his role as a father to his three boys, loving them deeply and wholeheartedly, and as a devoted husband who never told his wife “No”, always putting his family first. He never missed a chance to remind them, “I love you more than the air I breathe”, words that will forever echo in their hearts.

He will be remembered for his big heart, his joyful spirit, and the unconditional love he gave so effortlessly.

A funeral service will be held at 7pm, April 17, 2026, at Rogers & Breece Funeral Home with Brother Larry Chason officiating. Prior to the service, the family will greet guests and friends at Rogers & Breece Funeral Home from 5-7pm for the visitation.

Forever loved, forever missed, forever 30

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
