Jerry Thomas McGill, age 77, of Spring Lake, NC, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025. Born on March 16, 1948, in Dalton, Georgia, he was the beloved son of the late Meaferd Alex McGill and Eunice McGill.

Jerry proudly served his country as a United States Army Veteran, enlisting in April 1967 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He served for 10 years, achieving the rank of E5 and completing a tour in Vietnam before his honorable discharge on September 13, 1975. His time in the military was marked by steadfast commitment and quiet courage.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Priscilla Jean McGill (née Davis); his beloved son, John McGill; and cherished grandchildren: Kobe McGill, Hayden McGill, Gunner McGill, Elizabeth Davis, and Angela Figueroa (Jeremy). He also leaves behind two adored great-grandchildren, Kevin Hopkins Jr. and Roselea Figueroa. Jerry will be fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law Jackie Davis and Melody Davis, his brother-in-law Brad Davis (Tommie), and a host of extended family members and friends who knew and loved him.

A private burial service was on Monday, June 30, 2025 at LaFayette Memorial Park & Mausoleum.

Jerry’s legacy as a dedicated soldier, loving husband, proud father, and caring grandfather will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
