Juan Ramon Tiben-Rivera, 66, of Fayetteville, was surrounded by family when he went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2024. Juan was born in Puerto Rico to the late Sonia Rivera and Ramon Tiben. He was preceded in death by his brother, Luis R. Tiben.

Juan was a hard worker who was employed as a surveyor for 26 years and retired as a SSG from the US Army with 21 years of service. He was a diehard Yankees fan and loved sports. He loved his coffee and could drink a whole pot in the mornings. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons. He was an avid coin collector and comic book collector. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He tended to spoil them with candy. He had a severe sweet tooth himself. He was dependable, always jumping in to lend a helping hand to others. He was known to crack corny jokes with others, always bringing a smile to their face.

Juan is survived by his wife of 27 years, Darla Tiben-Rivera; 4 sons, Robert (Carrie), Gage, Dustin (Brittany), and Dale; 2 daughters, Jessica and Danielle (Trey); 2 sisters, Magaly and Vicky; 8 grandchildren, Damien, Christopher, Abel, Elena, Adrian, Dakin, Jackie, and Josie; Several nieces and nephews, Ricky, Luis, Robert, Jessica, Christina, Roberto, David, Damaris, Salito, and Jorge.

The family will receive friends on Friday May 31, 2024 from 11:30-12:30 PM at Northwood Temple, with the memorial service following at 12:30PM. The graveside service will conclude at 2:00 PM at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.
