Reverend Kenneth Wayne Williams, 69, a beloved husband, father, brother and friend, went to be with the heavenly Father on August 6, 2026, after battling a long illness. He was born on January 17, 1957, to James and Mary Williams, in Sanford, NC.

Kenneth’s life was a testament of love, dedication and parenthood. He spent 3 years in the Marine Corps. Shortly after serving our nation, he went on to serve 30 years with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. In 1993, God called him into the ministry, where he preached the gospel at Atonement Baptist Church and Pittman Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed travelling, especially to the NC mountains, playing golf, and deer hunting, in his free time. His most pride and joy was with his son, James Paul Williams (BeBo).

He is survived by his loving wife, Ann Williams; son, James Paul Williams, of Monroe, NC; brothers, Ronnie (Priscilla) Williams, of Asheboro, NC, and Steve (Cathy) Williams, of Sanford, NC; and several nieces and nephews. Kenneth’s memory will live on through his family and church family, whose lives have been enriched by his love and support.

A memorial service to celebrate Kenneth’s life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Pittman Grove Baptist Church, in Raeford NC. Pastor Michael Naylor will be officiating. Following his service, the family will be meeting with friends and guests at the church.
