(Editor’s note: This report has been updated to identify the man who was found dead.)
Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a room at an Owen Drive hotel, according to a news release.
Officers with the Fayetteville Police Department were called to the Extended Stay America hotel at 6:50 p.m. Thursday when the death was reported as suspicious.
On Friday, the Police Department identified the victim as Jeremy Mercer, 41 His family has been notified.
The circumstances surrounding his death are still under investigation.
The hotel is in the 400 block of Owen Drive.
