
Mrs. Margaret Singletary Darrell was born on August 2nd 1940 in Salters South Carolina to the late Mr. Omega Singletary and Mrs. Lucille Mathew’s Singletary. She entered into enter rest on January 2nd 2024 at Haymount Rehabilitation in Fayetteville NC
The oldest of four siblings Margaret was very protective and selfless and would go to no end to ensure that her family was safe and taken care of. In teen years she was relocated to Charleston South Carolina to live with her grandmother, while residing there she attended school and graduated from Bownes Wilson High School. She later attended Fayetteville Technical community college.
On November 28th 1961 Margaret was united in Holy matrimony to the love of her life 1st SGT James Darrell Jr. in Charleston SC. To this Union 3 children were birthed. Upon marriage she accepted her wifely duties as a military wife and travelled to various states and countries accompanying her husband as he fought tirelessly for our nations freedom.
To know Margaret was to love her, she was very kind and caring and had love and respect for all mankind, she was reared in Christian Faith she accepted Christ as her lord and savior at an early age attending various churches and upon her arrival in Fayetteville NC she began to attend Simon Temple AME Zion church as a loyal lay member until her health declined.
In addition to her parents Margaret was preceded in death by One Sister Anna Bell Davis and her Daughter in law Shelia Darrell.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories and loving personality her devoted husband of 62 years Ret 1st SGT, James Darrell Jr. Her 3 sons. James Darrell iii (Linda) of Raleigh NC, Dwight Darrell of Fayetteville NC, and Bernard Darrell (Vickie) of Dunn NC. One Grandson JB Darrell of Raleigh NC. Her Sisters, Johnie Mae Walker (Richard) and Mary Frances Mingo (Floyd) both of York Pennsylvania. one brother , Chester Singletary of Orlando Florida. A special sister Ruth Phillips (Frank) of Fayetteville NC. A special son and Daughter Eddie Darrell and Sharon. Along with a host of nieces nephews relatives and friends.
