Welcome to CityView Today! Media reports late Tuesday confirmed what’s been speculated about for weeks: Thousands of soldiers from Fort Bragg are being deployed to the Middle East. The move marks a stark escalation in the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran, which began on February 28.
Reports from the New York Times and Washington Post, citing unnamed sources, said about 2,000 soldiers from the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg will be sent. The sources said the soldiers are from the division’s “Immediate Response Force” that can deploy anywhere in the world within 18 hours.
