Dani Roessler has joined the CityView News Fund as its new development manager.
In the role, Roessler will work with the nonprofit CVNF’s board of directors in developing strategies to generate financial support to allow for the continued growth of the News Fund as it supports the delivery of local news for the Cumberland County community.
“We are fortunate to have Dani join our team during this important time as we work to add even more local reporters to cover underreported areas in our community,” said Tony Chavonne, the News Fund’s board chairperson. “Her unique perspective as a military family member and experienced nonprofit development manager are exactly what the News Fund needs to ensure that objective and balanced news coverage is provided free and accessible to all residents of Fayetteville and Cumberland County.”
The CityView News Fund provides the funding for three CityView news reporters covering local government, courts and health issues in and around Fayetteville and Cumberland County. Donations from supporters are critical to continue providing much-needed reporting about the news and information that matter to people who live and work in the region, Chavonne said.
Roessler has four years of experience in nonprofit management and development and served as an Adjutant General and Public Affairs officer in the U.S. Army.
“I’m excited and grateful for the opportunity to join the CityView News Fund,” she said. “Honest, balanced local journalism is an important aspect of a healthy democracy, and we live in a world where finding reliable news sources seems to be more and more difficult. Our donors play a critical role in preserving access to quality reporting in our community.
