Library hosts public book sales Friday through Sunday downtown
Friends of the Cumberland County Public Library will host book sales beginning Monday. The Monday sale, scheduled from noon to 6 p.m., is for Friends of the Library members only, according to a news release.
Paws for Reading therapy pets are great listeners
The only thing better than reading a book is reading a book with a dog. Paws for Reading at Cumberland County Public Library provides children the opportunity to read books aloud to dogs.
Library issues challenge to youngest visitors: Read 1,000 books before kindergarten
How many books have you read this year? Parents and caregivers of infants, toddlers and preschoolers may find the answer is higher than they think. Families can read more than 1,000 books in three years, if they read just one book per day with a child.

Can a walk in the park with a child help increase the little one’s literacy skills? The answer is yes, when the park features a StoryWalk. Cumberland County will soon have its second StoryWalk that you and the children in your life can enjoy.
