Fort Liberty Family and Army MWR held a Christmas Tree Lighting event on Nov. 30 at the Main Post Parade Field in Fort Liberty. The event hosted holiday entertainment with performances by the 82nd Airborne Division All-American Chorus and the Golden Knights, as well as other kids activities, visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, and the lighting of the Christmas tree. 

The event also recognized its 21st Fort Liberty Family of the Year for 2023, the Hassoun family: 1st Lt. Nasser Hassoun, wife Emily, son Elias and daughter Eliana, according to the U.S. Army. Other nominees were also recognized during the ceremony.
