Trudy Jean Craig, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2024 at home surrounded by love and family. She was born on November 23, 1941 to the late Fitzhugh and Ruth Holder.
She was known for her spunk, unwavering strength and willingness to help others. She pursued a career as a legal secretary and was certified. She was fortunate to work alongside her husband at his law firm. She was a member of Eastern Star for 60+ years and she was Worthy Matron as well as all other positions in Eastern Star. She was also a member of Fayetteville Doll Club, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Marvin United Methodist Church. She loved to travel and was fortunate to have visited most states and a large number of countries. She was also a “drama queen” participating in multiple productions as an actor/singer, director, stage manager, lights, makeup, etc. with or on local stages such as Ft Bragg Playhouse, Spring Lake Little Theater and Mannie’s Dinner Theater as well as theaters in her travels as a military wife.
Trudy is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, David Craig and together they built a life full of love, laughter and adventure. She was a devoted mother and grandmother whose greatest pride were her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Craig-Archer and her son, Timothy Craig and wife, Frankey; her bonus son, Ricky James; her grandchildren, Timothy (TJ) Craig and wife, Kelsey; Logan Archer and wife, Jordan; Ash Craig; Bouldin Heistand and wife, Karissa ; her great grandchildren, Mykenzie Nicholson and husband, Jordan; Kennedy Craig; Dean Archer; and her great, great grandson, Knox Nicholson.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home on Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC on Sunday, May 3, 2026. The family will receive friends from 2:30pm to 3:45pm with the service following at 4:00.
