JIGSAW PUZZLE CONTEST

'Fastest puzzler' contest set for Saturday

Posted

Think you have what it takes to be the fastest puzzler at the library? Find out during East Regional Library’s friendly jigsaw puzzle contest, coming Saturday, April 13 at 3:30 p.m. Here’s how it works:

First, decide whether you want to participate as an individual or as a pair. Either way, you will receive a puzzle with the same number of pieces, and you will have the same amount of time to complete the puzzles. Since this will put the team pairs at an advantage, we have decided to award two winners — one for each category.

While this contest is for adults, team pairs may consist of one adult and one teen, age 13 and up. This will make the competition a fun activity for families. Please note this is for team pair only; individual participants must be 18 or older.

Once you have decided how you want to participate, it’s time to register. You can register online via our events calendar, in-person at your preferred branch or by telephone. Each person can register two people at a time, so team pairs do not need to sign up separately.

Alright, now you’re all signed up and the big day arrives (remember to mark April 13 on your calendar). You are encouraged to show up at least 15 minutes early (no later than 3:15 p.m.) to check-in and choose your puzzle. Our puzzle collection has been kindly donated by our patrons, so each puzzle will be different. Choose wisely! No matter if you registered as an individual or a pair, the puzzles are all 500 pieces, and everyone has 90 minutes to complete their puzzle.

From those who finish their puzzle fastest, there will be one individual winner and one team winner. If no one completes their puzzle, the winners will be chosen by who has the fewest pieces left to place. What’s the prize? A puzzle, of course! The puzzle prize is a brand new, 500-piece puzzle. Each person on the winning team pair gets one – no sharing necessary.

East Regional Library is located at 4809 Clinton Road, across from Cape Fear High School. We hope to see you there!
