(Editorβs note: This report has been updated to reflect a lifting of the Amber Alert.)
An Amber Alert issued early Wednesday after a 3-year-old boy was reported missing and believed to have been abducted by his father has been lifted, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.
The alert said authorities were searching for Robert Paul Parker, 46, who investigators said abducted his son, Robert Paul Parker Jr., age 3, from a home in the 2200 block of Ireland Drive, according to a news release.
The Police Department said in a later news release that new information revealed that custodial issues in the case fall within the jurisdiction of Hoke County, where an active domestic violence protection order lists the senior Parker as the defendant, the news release said.
The child was reportedly abducted on or about June 14, the earlier news release said, and he was reported as missing to authorities about 1 a.m. Thursday.
The father is believed to be driving a 2006 blue Chevrolet Trailblazer with tinted windows and damage to the front end.
Anyone who sees either Robert Paul Parker or Robert Paul Parker Jr. should call 911. Information on their whereabouts can also be reported to 910-433-1851, Ext. 2214.Β
