A suspect has been arrested in connection with the robbery of a Speedway gas station on Yadkin Road on Friday.

A burglary alarm was set off about 8:45 a.m. Friday in the 5000 block of Yadkin Road, a news release said. Officers determined that the manager of the business had been robbed.

Detectives said a man who arrived at the business in a silver Nissan Altima entered the gas station and held the manager at gunpoint. The man took about $100 in cash and drove away, the release said.

Adrian Marcellious Battles II, 25,  was arrested and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon; second-degree kidnapping; and felony
possession of stolen goods.

Battles was held at the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond, the release said.
