Fayetteville’s Sweet Tea Shakespeare will hold auditions for two upcoming productions, according to a news release. Roles are being cast in “The Merry Wives of Windsor” and “Blue Ridge Juliet.” The auditions are scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 14, at Capitol Encore Academy, 126 Hay St.

Man, woman charged with animal cruelty in Witts End Quarter Horses investigation, Sheriff’s Office says
A man and woman have been charged with cruelty to animals after seven horses were seized from Witts End Quarter Horses, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. The seized horses included a 3-month-old foal that “sustained felony-level injuries,” according to a news release.
