Mail-in ballot requests more than double over 2018, N.C. elections office says

North Carolina voters have until 5 p.m. Tuesday to request a mail-in ballot for the Nov. 8 general election, according to the N.C. Board of Elections. Meanwhile, early one-stop voting will continue at eight polling sites across Cumberland County through Nov. 5, according to the county Board of Elections website, Cumberland County elections website.

Wilmington actor tells story of second chances in new film ‘Remember Yesterday’

J.R. Rodriguez was, literally, the oldest cat on the stage, and he was struck by the conversations he overheard among his younger castmates. The result is “Remember Yesterday,” a movie he directed that was recently an award winner at a film festival in Italy. The film will be screened Aug. 16 at Cameo Art House Theatre in downtown Fayetteville.
