Bobby Locklear, 79, of Summerville, South Carolina, formerly of Fayetteville, North Carolina, left his earthly home on Friday, April 24, 2026 surrounded by his loving family at his home. Born May 29, 1946 in Robeson County, Lumberton, North Carolina, Bobby was the son of Nettie Locklear.

He is preceded in death by his mother Nettie Locklear Patterson, stepfather Jack Patterson, brothers Johnny Locklear and Dewey Locklear.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Elizabeth of 59 years and 10 months, his son Wayne (Ann Marie), grandson Taylor (Juliana) and beautiful great granddaughter “baby” Viviana, brother Rabion (Mary), sister Brenda Lee, and several nieces and nephews.

His family was his most valued possession; he loved them very much, and he will be truly missed. Bobby started working at the age of fifteen doing drywall work. He started his own business in 1968, passed it down to his son and now grandson. The pride that Bobby had in his only son is immeasurable as was his love and pride for his only grandson. He was able to witness his son and grandson accomplish more than he could have hoped for in his lifetime.

2 Timothy 4:7 says, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

Our family will be forever grateful for the love, care and thoughtful moments that were shared during Bobby’s journey by the caregivers, Agape Hospice, family and friends that drove to visit Bobby and our family in South Carolina. Our hearts are filled with love beyond measure for the kindnesses shown.
