The city of Fayetteville is seeking residents to fill vacancies on its boards and commissions, according to a news release. 

 Volunteers who are appointed by the City Council serve as a link to connect residents to city government and as advisers who help shape city policies and programs.

Seats are available on the following boards:

  • Animal Control Board:  one vacancy.
  • Board of advisers for the Woodpeckers Capital Reserve Account:  four vacancies.
  • Community Police Advisory Board: one vacancy.
  • Fayetteville Advisory Committee on Transit (FACT): two vacancies.
  • Planning Commission: four vacancies.
  • Zoning Commission: three vacancies.
  • Fayetteville-Cumberland Economic Development Board: one vacancy.
  • Fayetteville-Cumberland Human Relations Commission: four vacancies.
  • Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks & Recreation Advisory Commission: one vacancy.
  • Fayetteville Next Advisory Commission: eight vacancies.
  • Fayetteville Redevelopment Board: one vacancy.
  • Historic Resources Commission: one vacancy.
  • Joint City and County Appearance Commission: two vacancies.
  • Joint Fayetteville-Cumberland County Senior Citizen Advisory Board: four vacancies.
  • Public Arts Commission: one vacancy.
  • Stormwater Advisory Board: four vacancies.

Applicants will be taken through July 31 at Fayettevillenc.gov/boards. All qualified applications will be presented to the City Council appointments committee in August. The council will vote on approving the recommended applicants  in September, the release said.
