An online survey is available to the community to get input as the Cumberland County Board of Education continues the search for a new superintendent.

The community has had a chance to offer insight through a series of forums in recent weeks. The survey offers another chance to let the board know what is wanted in a new Cumberland County Schools leader.

The Superintendent Search Survey is designed to get community input and gain perspectives on the qualities, experience and priorities that a superintendent ought to have.

โ€œCommunity involvement is essential in this process,โ€ Deanna Jones, the board chair, said in a news release. โ€œWe encourage everyone to take a few moments to complete the survey and help us select a superintendent who will best serve out students, families and staff.โ€

Superintendent Marvin Connelly announced in December that he is retiring June 30 from the post he has held since 2018.

The survey is available through 11:59 p.m. Sunday. All responses are anonymous.
