Lund (Erie) of Colonial Heights, Virginia, Judy L. Newsom of Fayetteville, and Raymond G. Booth (Susan) of Newport News, Virginia; and her sister, Yvonne Tilley of South Carolina. Evelyn was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was a beautiful reflection of faith, family, and service to others. She shared 74 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Leonard N. Booth, Sr. The two met at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Fayetteville and were married on May 10, 1952, in Dillon, South Carolina. She was a graduate of Seventy-First High School, where she was active in sports, Evelyn embraced life with determination, kindness, and a strong work ethic. As the proud wife of a U.S. Army Special Forces Green Beret soldier, she supported her husband throughout his military career. Their journey took them to many places, including Germany, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Okinawa, where their children were born. No matter where life took them, Evelyn made sure their home was filled with love, warmth, and family traditions. Evelyn was a woman of many talents. She worked alongside her husband for many years, helping manage Booth Electric, and also managed and maintained rental properties in Spring Lake. She enjoyed substitute teaching in local schools and had a special gift for baking, creating beautiful wedding and birthday cakes for family and friends. She was also a talented seamstress who enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and collecting dolls. Whether she was baking a cake, sewing something special, or sharing her talents, Evelyn put love into everything she did. Above all, Evelyn had a servant’s heart and a deep love for the Lord. As a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Spring Lake, she faithfully served as the church pianist for many years, a role that brought her tremendous joy. She was also a gifted organist and often shared her musical talents with other churches throughout the community, including the Hispanic church. Her love for children was evident in her nearly 40 years of teaching the four-year-old Sunday School class, where she helped plant seeds of faith in countless young hearts.

While Evelyn accomplished many things throughout her life, nothing brought her greater happiness than raising her children and watching her family grow. She was a constant source of love, encouragement, and guidance, teaching her children the skills and values they would carry throughout their lives.
