It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James (Jimmy) Erdman Baker, 77, a beloved resident of Cumberland County, who peacefully died in his home in Hope Mills, North Carolina on November 4, 2023.

Born in Cumberland County, NC on December 4, 1945, James was the cherished child of James and Ruby Baker. He was the former owner of Jimmys Plumbing and worked and retired as a Plumbing Inspector for the city of Fayetteville. Jimmy was a long standing member of Antioch Church of God. His loss is profoundly felt by his adoring family and numerous friends.

James is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Priscilla Dixon Baker of the home; He leaves behind a legacy through his three sons: James Courtney (Amanda), Rory L. (Casina), and Sean P.  (Angela) Baker, along with his daughter, Andrea McBride and her deceased husband Robert McBride. His memory will also be carried on by his siblings: one brother, David Baker (Brenda) Zebulon, NC; two sisters, Betty Infinger (Ronnie) of Orlando, FL, and Renee Peadin of Wendell, NC. He is remembered lovingly by thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchild, and many other cherished extended family members and friends.

The family will be welcoming friends for visitation from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Wednesday, November 08, 2023, at Antioch Church of God, located at 542 Shaw Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28303. Following the visitation, funeral services to honor and celebrate the life of James (Jimmy) Erdman Baker will commence at 6:00 PM at Antioch Church of God, with Pastor Stephen Johnson and Reverend Robert Staples officiating.

Interment will be held on Thursday November 9, 2023 at LaFayette Memorial Gardens 2301 Ramsey Street Fayetteville, NC 28301
