Good morning. Three E.E. Smith High School football players who died in a fatal car crash last week were remembered with a tribute held at South View High School prior to Tuesday’s game between the teams.

Family members stood to one side of a table placed on the field, where they were presented with commemorative helmets honoring the students. They grasped large gold balloons shaped into the number on each of the players’ jerseys.

The students’ deaths have changed the school forever, E.E. Smith Principal Larry Parker said.

“There’s no script for this,” he said. “We take it one day at a time, one hour at a time, trying to figure out how to navigate this.”
