Cumberland County will host an information session for nonprofit organizations on funding available to help with their expenses, according to a county news release.
Representatives of the county’s Nonprofit Fiscal Recovery Assistant Program will meet virtually with nonprofit groups at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, the release said.
The program allows nonprofit organizations with a “public purpose” to apply for as much as $50,000 to help with certain expenses. Those include payroll; rent, mortgage or utilities; direct services; training and travel; advertising and printing; accessibility and equity services; and other operating expenses, the news release said.
“Public purpose” organizations include those that address employment, economic development, crime prevention, child care, health, drug abuse, education, and welfare needs of people with low to moderate incomes.
The program has been updated to remove a requirement that nonprofit groups retain low- to moderate-income employees, the release said. The change was made by the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners to make the program more accessible. Nonprofit groups that previously applied for the funding do not need to reapply because all applications received before the change will be reviewed using the revised eligibility criteria, the release said.
The deadline to apply is May 7.
The virtual meeting will be recorded and posted on the county’s website, cumberlandcountync.gov/arp-nonprofit.
