Ann Willis, 78, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 19, 2022, at Cape Fear Valley Hoke Hospital after a long battle with breast cancer. Ann was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina on July 1, 1944, to the late Malloy and Jessie (Edge) Quick.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Marie Bowen (Steve): her son, Larry (Dawn) of Fayetteville; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jessica Soliz (Chris -Declan & Nolan) of Madison, AL, Jennifer Francis (Eric – Kacen) of Hampstead, Alex Willis (Mella – Cam & Cora), Silas Bowen and Alexis Willis of Fayetteville.
She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Larry Lowell Willis, and the following siblings: Smitty Quick, Jackie Reynolds, Betty Quick, and Frankie Quick.
Ann was a faithful member of Village Baptist Church for well over 30 years; working in the nursery and an active member of her Sunday school class. She was known and loved by so many as “Red.” She was a waitress at New China Restaurant for over 40 years. Ann enjoyed traveling over the years with friends and family to Las Vegas and Dollywood.
Services will be held at Village Baptist Church on McPherson Church Road, Fayetteville, NC on Monday, December 26th. Visitation will be 12:30 pm-1:30 pm. Funeral services will be officiated by Dr. Bruce Martin and Pastor Nick Smith at 1:30 pm, followed by a graveside service at 3 pm (Lafayette Memorial Park & Mausoleum on Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC).
