A school bus carrying elementary school students crashed into a house near the Lake Rim area, causing damage to the front end of the bus and property damage to the nearby yards, according to a spokesperson for Cumberland County Schools.

The crash took place off All Saints Drive and Stackhouse Drive. No injuries were reported, according to CCS Communications Manager Renarta Moyd.

Moyd said the accident happened at 7:20 a.m. Wednesday while 56 students were being transported to Lake Rim Elementary School.

The Cumberland County Schools Transportation department shared that the district’s school buses are inspected every 30 days.

The school system did not comment on whether the driver was at fault or if the bus malfunctioned, and directed further inquiries to law enforcement.
