Thomas Earl Hilburn, Sr., 66, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2025, in his home with his devoted wife, Lynn, of 39 years by his side.

Thomas was born on May 28, 1958, in Lumberton, NC to the late Tom and Margaret (Edwards) Hilburn. He was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Charles and Mae Davis of Linden, NC; son, Thomas Hilburn, Jr.; and his great grandsons, Jeffery and Cain Hilburn.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Mary Davis Hilburn (Lynn) of Hope Mills, NC; son, Thomas Joel and wife, Daisha Freeman of Hope Mills, NC; son, Charles Thomas Hilburn of Hope Mills, NC; brother, Jimmy and wife, Nancy Hilburn of Nashville, NC; brother, Jeff and wife, Vickie Hilburn of Parkton, NC; granddaughter, Sarah and husband, Mo Sabri of Greenville, NC; along with a cherish legacy of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Thomas was dedicated to his business, T L Construction, which he started in 1989, devoted to making nothing but professional improvements to clientโ€™s homes and business needs. He was also an avid participator in the drag racing world in Fayetteville, Thundervalley, Galox, Rockingham, and 7-10 drag strips in North Carolin, as Hilburn Racing.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home from 6 to 87 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church at 11:30 am. Burial to follow the service at Lafayette Memorial Park.
