Fayetteville police investigating sexual assault
Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department are investigating a sexual assault that was reported early Sunday on Shaw Road. Officers responded to the call on the 1400 block of Shaw Road around 1:45 a.m. The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was randomly identified and assaulted by a man who forced his way into her home, police said in a release.
Health Pavilion North Express Care to reopen Monday
The Cape Fear Valley Health Pavilion North Express Care will reopen Monday on a three-day schedule. The Express Care, which is at 6387 Ramsey St., closed in October 2021 to focus on COVID-19 vaccinations and testing, the health system said in a release. It will be open to see patients on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Hope Mills police: 1 pedestrian killed, another seriously injured in hit-and-run
HOPE MILLS — One man died and another was seriously injured early Friday while walking on Camden Road, the Hope Mills Police Department said. Just after 12:30 a.m., a champagne-colored, late 1990s to early 2000s model year Toyota 4-Runner was traveling east on Camden Road when the driver hit two pedestrians near Thomas Street, police said in a release.

One person died and three others were critically injured in a vehicle crash on Gillis Hill Road Wednesday afternoon, the Fayetteville Police Department said. Officers responded to the crash, which involved three vehicles, around 3:45 p.m.
