Beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, Cape Fear Valley Medical Center will close its main entrance and part of its main driveway to pedestrian and vehicle traffic because of construction work, according to a news release.
The closure will last through Sunday evening to allow for positioning a second construction crane as part of the ongoing Valley Pavilion expansion project, the release said.
Visitors will be directed to the parking deck entrance that faces Owen Drive. They may enter the hospital through a covered walkway into Valley Pavilion from parking deck, the release said.
Parking fees will be waived during this time.
Patients who need to be picked up after they are discharged from the hospital will be taken to the Cancer Center entrance to avoid impact on Emergency Department traffic, the release said.
Mothers who are in labor should use the Cancer Center entrance during this time.
