Investigators seized gambling tables and chips, assault weapons and 156 grams of marijuana during a search at a Bragg Boulevard automotive company, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.

The department’s Aggravated Assault and Robbery Unit was investigating a shooting that was reported long in the 4600 block of Bragg Boulevard, according to a news release.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for Allen’s Automotive Co. in that block.

With the help of the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles’ License & Theft Bureau, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and the Police Department’s Community Empowerment Response Team, they searched the business on Wednesday, the release said.Β Β 

They seized three firearms, including an AK-47 rifle, Ruger 380 pistol, and an AR-15 that had been reported stolen in May. They also seized 156 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia as well as uncovered evidence of illegal gambling activity, the news release said.Β 

Joseph Robert Allen, 42, of Fayetteville, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana; maintaining a dwelling for the sale drugs; possession of a stolen firearm; possession of drug paraphernalia; gambling; allowing gambling in a public house; and allowing gambling tables in a public space, according to the release.Β 

Allen was released from the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $5,000 unsecured bond. Β 

Detectives are still investigating the reported shooting.
