A Fayetteville man is charged with firing gunshots into an occupied vehicle outside a convenience store on Ramsey Street, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.
The shooting was reported about 10:40 a.m. Thursday at the Short Stop market in the 1900 block of Ramsey Street, according to a news release.
The victim was not harmed during the shooting, police said.
Investigators said the victim was approached by a man outside the store and a verbal altercation ensued. The man began shooting into the victim’s vehicle, then fled on foot, the release said.
Detectives identified the shooter as Daniel Keith Donley, 30, of Fayetteville. The Gang Unit and Community Empowerment Response Team searched the area and found Donley on Blue Street.
He was taken into custody without incident.
Donley is charged with attempted first-degree murder; assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill; discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle; armed for terror of the public; injury to personal property; and carrying a concealed firearm, the release said.
Donley was held at the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $350,000 secured bond.
