A Parkton man has been arrested in the 2022 shooting death of a Hope Mills man, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

Homicide detectives, with the assistance of the Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team, searched a home in the 2200 block of Lake Upchurch Road in Parkton. Tyler Alex Culbreth, 23, of Parkton, was charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Jefferey Michael Cain, 26,  on Nov. 15, the Sheriff’s Office said..

Culbreth was held at the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond on a charge of first-degree murder. His first appearance in court is scheduled at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
