Mr. and Mrs. James Ford Smith of Fayetteville announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Carrie Marie Smith, to Walton Kenneth Herring III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walton Kenneth Herring Jr. of Fayetteville. The wedding will take place on Saturday, June 25, at Shell Island Resort in Wrightsville Beach. After their honeymoon in St. Lucia, the couple will live in Fayetteville.

Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hair of Fayetteville happily announce the engagement of their son, James Tyler Hair, to Kayla Danielle Myhre, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Myhre, also of Fayetteville. Tyler and Kayla will be married on Saturday, June 11, at 4:30 p.m. at Summerfield Farms in Summerfield.

Dr. and Mrs. Myron Strickland of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Mr. and Mrs. Duane DeGaetano of Wilmington, North Carolina are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter Abby DeGaetano to Ethan Powell, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Powell of Burlington, North Carolina.

Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Max Abbott Jr. of Fayetteville are excited to announce the engagement of their daughter Alexandra Holmes Abbott to Kyle Hamilton Spearman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Mattison Spearman of Summerville, South Carolina. The couple will be married on April 9 at 5:30 p.m. at the Wrightsville Manor in Wilmington.

The guests were there to honor Mary Holmes on her 25th anniversary as the president and CEO of the Cumberland Community Foundation.

At the end of June 2022, Ron Gunter will officially retire. The Fayetteville Area Habitat for Humanity staff, volunteers, Board of Directors, and family thank Ron for his dedicated service.
