3 men charged with sex assault crimes in separate cases, law officers say

Three men facing sexual assault and other charges in separate incidents were arrested this week in Cumberland County, according to news releases.

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Special Victims Unit charged Willie Tremaine Underwood, 37, in connection with a statutory sex offense that occurred on Jan. 29, according to a police news release. 

Underwood is charged with two counts of statutory sex offense; taking indecent liberties with a child; and crimes against nature, the release said. 

Officers were called to a residence in the Loch Lomond subdivision on Jan. 29 to investigate a report of a juvenile sexual assault.  

Underwood was arrested Wednesday and held at the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $1 million secured bond.

Man charged with rape, assault

In a separate case, detectives with the Special Victims Unit charged another man in connection with a rape reported on Monday, police said. 

Dominic Antoine Blackmon, 32, of the 800 block of Seventy-First School Road, was charged with second-degree rape; two counts of forcible sex offense; second-degree kidnapping; assault by strangulation; and breaking and entering, according to a news release. 

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was held against her will and taken to a second location where she was physically and sexually assaulted, the release said. The victim and suspect knew each other, investigators said. 

Blackmon was held at the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $47,500 secured bond. 

Hope Mills man charged with indecent liberties

In another case, the Special Victims Unit of the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office arrested a man on Wednesday on child sex abuse charges, according to a news release.

Donald Green, 45, of Hope Mills, is charged with five counts of first-degree forcible sex offense and five counts of taking indecent liberties with a child, the release said.

Green was held at the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $500,000 secured bond. His first appearance in court was scheduled Thursday afternoon.
