Terry Ciccone - Artist
A resident of Fayetteville, NC for 47 years, Terry has enjoyed raising her 3 children and numerous pets with her husband Gary. Originally from Washington, NC; she graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill and taught school for several years. She later opened a home décor shop and then moved on to sell real estate for 20 years.
Art has always been an interest; however, it was not until her retirement that she had time to think about painting. It was the pandemic and the illness and death of her son, Brett, that pushed her to explore what she could create on canvas. The “soul-soothing” time spent painting became a vital part of her life.
Florals were Terry’s first projects; exploring and celebrating color. Still seeing the world through a colorful lens, she has turned her attention to The Great Blue Heron and Osprey, both beautiful and fascinating birds common along the waterways of eastern North Carolina. A lighthearted vibe comes through all her work. Her paintings of people, birds, cats, dogs, and places all share the goal of catching and savoring a special moment. Terry feels that life and painting are both a process of exploring and learning, but most important is finding joy along the way. She hopes you feel the joy in her work.
